July 27 Releases: Boomer Shooter Horror Leads a PC Indie Lineup
From '80s trash horror to a Silicon Valley grind sim, plus fresh scenarios for Terra Invicta.
Today’s slate is built entirely around PC releases built almost on indies, with 10 Hours Before Sunrise setting the tone as a retro horror shooter. Backing it up are a hand-drawn comedy adventure, a narrative tycoon about app development, a first-person puzzler, and a strategy expansion for Terra Invicta. Here is what is out.
10 Hours Before Sunrise#
Goburin Studios opens the day with a brutal 8-bit-style boomer shooter inspired by '80s trash horror. You play Samuel Alvarez, a broken man who stumbles into a cabin worse than any nightmare. The pitch is straightforward: survive the night and face the forces of Wendakor, or you won't see the dawn. If you like your retro shooters loud, pixelated, and steeped in schlock horror atmosphere, this is the standout of the bunch.

Alice's Night at the Mansion#
Madvox Games swings the mood in the other direction with a hand-drawn, point-and-click-inspired comedy adventure. Three eccentric ghosts have kidnapped Alice's dog, Dinah, and it falls to you to free the pup, unravel the mysteries of Monster Mansion, and pull off the annual Monster Party. A lighter, puzzle-driven counterweight to the horror above.

App Developer Tycoon#
Pixelquiz delivers a turn-based narrative tycoon about the indie developer grind. You quit your job, build apps from your bedroom, and try to claw your way from a spare room to a Silicon Valley HQ while beating rivals and keeping up with rent. The strategy crowd looking for something management-flavored has a clear pick here.

Terra Invicta: Dark Skies#
Pavonis Interactive expands its alien-invasion grand strategy sim with two new scenarios. One drops you into a world shattered by nuclear fire a century ago; the other rewinds to 2003, trading the rush to the stars for a slower fight on Earth. This is a DLC/expansion, so you'll need the base game to dig in.
Also out today#
Behind The Walls from TKYAH rounds things out - a first-person puzzle adventure about exploring a secret place, solving mysteries, and uncovering the dark truth hidden behind the walls.
A solid, varied indie slate if you're on PC, with something for horror fans, puzzle solvers, and strategy players alike. Which of these is going on your wishlist, and are any of you jumping back into Terra Invicta for the new scenarios? Please let us know below.
