Supergiant Games has officially confirmed that Hades II launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S tomorrow, April 14, 2026. The full 1.0 version of the acclaimed roguelike sequel arrives day one on Xbox Game Pass, with full Xbox Play Anywhere support that lets players seamlessly continue their runs between Xbox consoles, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud.
The game has already been available in its complete form on PC (Steam and Epic), Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 since September 25, 2025. Console players who have waited patiently can now step into the role of Melinoë, the immortal Princess of the Underworld, and continue the fight against Chronos and the forces threatening the realms.
What Console Players Can Expect#
Hades II expands significantly on the first game while keeping the addictive loop of tight, responsive combat and meaningful progression that made the original a modern classic. Players battle through dynamically shifting underworld locations using an expanded arsenal of witchcraft, new weapons (nocturnal arms), and powerful boons from a fresh cast of gods and mythological figures.
The console versions include all post-launch updates and content added since the 1.0 release last year, plus additional bonus content and quality-of-life improvements launching alongside the ports. Both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions target smooth performance, with the Xbox edition supporting up to 120 frames per second where possible.
Cross-save functionality via Xbox Play Anywhere means Game Pass subscribers can pick up exactly where they left off if they already played on PC. PlayStation 5 players receive the same complete package at launch, ensuring everyone gets the definitive experience.

Building on a Legendary Foundation#
The sequel deepens the narrative around the House of Hades and Melinoë’s quest, introducing new story threads, relationships, and endings while preserving the sharp writing and character-driven moments Supergiant is known for. Combat feels even more fluid, with greater variety in builds, incantations, and environmental interactions.
Since leaving Early Access and launching version 1.0 in September 2025, Hades II has earned strong praise for its refinements and added depth. The upcoming console release gives a much larger audience the chance to experience one of the best roguelikes of the generation in its most polished state yet.
