Overview

The Machine That Breathes is a 2D Survival Horror game with a focus on situational combat and exploration. Inspired by the likes of Resident Evil and System Shock.

Story

You are digging deep underground, tasked with scanning for seismic activity and sending data to the surface. Your contact cuts out unexpectedly, leaving you digging for eternity. As power runs low, everything goes dark. You suddenly awaken in a strange new body, apparently recovered somehow. The facility around you is vacant, and you're definitely not on the surface.

Gameplay

• Crawl through a hostile environment and manage limited inventory
• Every shot counts - spend resources wisely as everything used is gone forever
• Sometimes the best choice is to run rather than fight
• Multiple ways to navigate the world leading to different upgrades and capabilities
• Solve small puzzles and obstacles along the way
