The game is set a thousand years into the future, after an unknown event wiped out civilization  nothing on the surface remained. A day in Project Rebearth takes a day in real time. this means it is a game you play casually over multiple days and weeks, rather than finish in one afternoon. There is no combat. As your city grows, you unlock new features and gameplay mechanics in this world that never sleeps.
