Experience the Australian War Memorial’s collection in VR! View and explore a Mark IV tank from WW1; a Hudson Bomber and an Avro Lancaster from WW2; the Adelaide Class Frigate; and the Bushmaster. Featuring video, audio, photos, and facts to bring to life the history of these important items.
On Closer Inspection is a series of immersive 360-degree experiences developed by the Australian War Memorial.
Through the use of 360-degree video and VR technology you can explore and interact with some of the Memorial's historic large technology objects inside and out.
The first in the series is the Mark IV tank ‘Grit’ from the First World War.
The Bushmaster is an Australian-built, all-wheel-drive Protected Mobility Vehicle (PMV). Designed and first produced in Bendigo, Victoria, in 1998 by Thales Australia (formerly ADI Limited) the Bushmaster is considered one of the most successful military vehicles in operation today.
Explore the Royal Australian Navy’s Adelaide class FFG frigate and take a closer look at HMAS Sydney IV both inside and out. The Adelaide class FFG is considered by many to be one of the most capable warships in the Royal Australian Navy’s history.
