Metapathic is a movement-based hack-and-slash set in the Abyssosphere, an unfathomable pit housing the remains of a sprawling research facility. Take control of an android girl in search of her memories, and brave the Abyssosphere with a suite of abilities that fluidly blend combat and traversal.
In the wake of a distant apocalypse, an anomalous pit scars the surface of the earth and its depths - the** Abyssosphere**. Holding the remains of a megastructure that was once dedicated to bleeding-edge research and technology, it now breathes beneath the cover of rampant flora, and on top of these ruins lies the last bastion of humanity -** New Atlas**.
Prospering through the research and use of technologies recovered from the facility below, city-sanctioned Scouts and Divers not authorized by law work tirelessly to breach the leagues separating them and the mysteries the Abyssosphere holds, with each emboldened by their own motives and risking their lives against the guardians of this otherworldly abyss - Gardeners, machines guided by directives to protect the Abyssosphere.
After decades asleep, an android named Blake wakes in the outskirts of New Atlas, deprived of her memories. With her only leads being the human diaspora she's now found herself within, the Abyssosphere, and the fleeting digital ghost of a girl haunting the edges of her vision, she descends into the pit - in search of any answers she can find, and for a place in the world she's now confronted with.
The Abyssosphere is a vast and dangerous place. Explore ethereal environments of concrete and foliage with a suite of traversal options at your disposal, take on enemies in fast-paced hack-and-slash combat, and fluidly engage with both to brave what lies within the depths.
Blake isn't without the means to properly brave the Abyssosphere. Armed with her Modular Blade, discovering and equipping unique abilities and upgrades adds onto and transforms the functionality of your kit, providing both an additional medium to chain traversal and combat together and new methods by which to interface with both systems as you delve deeper.
