Lines of Battle is a multi-era tactical strategy game that puts you in command of armies inspired by the Napoleonic Wars and World War II. Plan your deployments, issue orders, and outmaneuver your opponent in battles where positioning, timing, and decision-making determine the outcome. Built around the fantasy of being a true battlefield commander.

A Passion Project for History Enthusiasts

Lines of Battle began as the vision of a single developer, inspired by watching the 1970 film Waterloo hundreds of times. The goal was simple: to distill the grand, cinematic feeling of Napoleonic warfare into a deep yet accessible strategy game.

Today, that vision has evolved into a rich, competitive wargame supported by a dedicated community of mapmakers, historical consultants, and artists. Our ambition is to expand this system across every major era of human conflict.

Full 3D Graphics: The Sophie Games team has expanded to bring our tactical vision to life with glorious 3D environments and units.
Operational Campaigns: Command at a higher level. Manage divisions and corps, strike at supply lines, and coordinate your Grand Armée across Northern Italy, Central Europe, and the Russian steppe.
New Historical Eras: We are developing new mechanics and units for multiple eras, expanding the battlefield across some of the most memorable moments across history.
