Unfortunately, this has caused most government-run prisons to be overpopulated, underfunded, and in horrible conditions. Prisoners with long sentences will often die of malnutrition or illness before their sentence is over...
But now, they can apply to outsourced private companies that provide alternative forms of punishment.
The most popular option for many inmates, and one of the most difficult to get into, is a game show that removes several inmates from the system entirely.
