CHV: VR Trunk Escape

Overview

The Car Hacking Village (CHV)'s Trunk Escape experience is based on the real Trunk Escape CTF challenge hosted at DefCon. In the traditional challenge, contestants would sign up, pick items for the trunk, be bound and placed inside with a 30 minute timer to escape, with flags along the way for additional points.

Gameplay

This VR conversion places you in the back of a van where you pick a loadout and must solve physical puzzles or hack into the CAN bus to escape. If played during DefCon, you can connect to CTF servers to compete against other hackers. Outside of DefCon, challenges randomly generate new solutions for additional replay value.

Note

This is a solo-dev volunteer project. Oculus support uses OpenXR but full VR headset compatibility testing is ongoing. This was a nights and weekend project with some minor bugs remaining.
