The robots guarding the facility [Canaria]
were scheduled to perform a "military exercise in preparation
for an attack on the facility by a foreign enemy".
The robots were divided into two groups
,the attackers and the defenders,
and they conducted military exercises
and collected the data obtained from the exercises.
The matrix AI would build more advanced robots
and the operational AI would formulate more advanced strategies.
