Conquistadors

Story

The ship you were traveling on anchors off a small island inhabited by friendly natives. Provisions are running low. However, the only source of fresh water has been captured by a mad priest who demands human sacrifices. With the help of your native allies, you will have to defeat the bloodthirsty priest, replenish your supplies and continue your journey.

You arrive in a Spanish colony, which is besieged by the warlike Aztecs. The local ruler of Chipahua demands that the conquistadors liberate the captured village. Warriors from the crocodile tribe want to enter into a military alliance with the Spaniards against the locals. You have to choose a side in the conflict, achieve peace and find a way to penetrate the Gorge of Fear.

Gameplay

Explore locations and complete story missions using the map mode to track objectives. Earn experience and develop your character's skills to strengthen your squad with more warriors, use artillery, and find more gold and hearts.

Gold is the main resource - use it to hire volunteers, buy food and supplies, and learn useful skills. Hearts are used for trading with Indian tribes and restoring warrior health on the battlefield.

Battles take place in separate locations where you arrange warriors to protect the flag. During combat, you can send warriors to attack or return them to defensive positions, but cannot control individual warrior actions.

Squad and Units

Each fighter has unique characteristics - spearmen prevent enemy approach, shooters use arquebuses and crossbows. Field fortifications slow enemy advances, and fighting dogs frighten enemies. Special skills like "Friend of the Indians" let you recruit native warriors, while "Death Whistle" allows you to resurrect skeletons before each battle.
